“I think I’m back!”

Domenico Pozzovivo is a modest person, and even this sentence he used to sum up his first race with IPT, Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali, was said with a bashful smile.

But there is no doubt whatsoever that he is indeed back after five days of hard racing, that ended today with a windy and technical TT. The conditions were far from favorable for the slight Italian but he still did well enough to secure 6th place in the GC.

“I came here with hope to fight for a top-10, but in truth I can say that the end result is pretty amazing, considering that I did not race for months.”

With all the accolades he deserves, maybe the most impressive is for his respectful and warm demeanor to his young teammates and the hordes of fans that followed him.

Nadav Raisberg, our young and upcoming Israeli from the IPT Conti team, became his newest admirer.

“I knew about him, but to see the power and speed that he possesses – it’s almost shocking.”

Pozzo was delighted to share his knowledge with the Israeli “kid” and was full of praise for the total support he got from him and his teammates during the race.

“The team gave me all they got. It’s been great and I am already looking forward with a lot of optimism to my next races with the team.”
