Israel Start-Up Nation is happy to announce that UYN will join the team as the official supplier of base layers and casual footwear for the 2021 season.

Launched in 2018, UYN has quickly become one of the leading brands in the world of sports. UYN’s technologically advanced base layers are made exclusively in Italy and developed in collaboration with some of the best athletes in the world.

The brand is already well-known in alpine skiing, where UYN is the official supplier to nine national teams, contributing to multiple gold medals in the last World Cup season. Now, it is cycling’s turn, with this first-of-its-kind WorldTour partnership with Israel Start-Up Nation.

Marco Redini, UYN CEO: After our success in winter sports, we are now ready to play a leading role at the highest level of professional cycling as well. The partnership with Israel Start-Up Nation is not a point of arrival for UYN, but rather an opportunity to develop even more high-performing and advanced products thanks to the feedback we’ll get from the best cyclists in the world.”

Kjell Carlström, ISN General Manager: “We are very excited to join forces with UYN. In professional sport, any edge you can get is important and we truly believe that this partnership will benefit the team greatly this year with UYN’s technologically advanced base layers, socks, and footwear.”

25 % LIGHTER – 50 % FASTER DRYING – 100% NATURAL

Base layers play a critical role in keeping the body at the correct temperature during high-level performances. The UYN ENERGYON and UYN MOTYON base layers – that the ISN riders will wear this season – are made with NATEX, an exclusive UYN bio-based fiber obtained from castor beans. What sets Natex apart from traditional nylon, which is petroleum-derived, is that the organic fiber dries up to 50% faster and is 25% lighter; this results in rapid sweat absorption and superior comfort.

NEXT LEVEL FOOTWEAR

Recovery is a crucial part of elite sport. To make sure the ISN riders can relax and recover properly, UYN will supply the team with the UYN CYCLING LIGHT socks, with asymmetrical elastic structure and COOL AIR FLOW technology, which promotes blood circulation and keeps the foot ventilated at all times.

The ISN riders can now also rely on the ultra-breathable UYN X-CROSS shoes, which provide the comfort of a sock, thanks to the one-piece elastic upper that wraps the foot, with the extraordinary properties of Merino wool: softness, naturally thermo-regulating, and anti-odor. Furthermore, the sugar cane sole insert makes the shoe extremely light (about 200 grams) and responsive.
