Israel – Premier Tech is excited to return to the Giro d’Italia for the team’s sixth participation at the Italian Grand Tour thanks to the wildcard invitation, announced today by RCS.

“The Giro was our young team’s first Grand Tour participation, and also our first Grand Tour stage win. So, we are excited to return, and try to achieve even more success, as IPT will field a strong team at this this year’s Giro. I wish to thank RCS CEO Paolo Belino for our invitation, and endorsement of the strength of our program,” says IPT owner Sylvan Adams.

Starting with an individual time trial finishing in Ortona, the home of the Fantini Group, the team will look to start the race off on the right foot and celebrate the team’s longstanding partnership with Fantini.

“The Giro d’Italia is a special race for us and we are very happy to be returning to the race this year,” adds General Manager Kjell Carlström. “The memories of the Grande Partenza in Israel in 2018 will always be a defining moment for Israel – Premier Tech and a huge stepping stone in our team’s history. It was also the race where we scored our first Grand Tour win in 2020 courtesy of Alex Dowsett, so we can’t wait to create more memories at this year’s edition.”

“The 2023 route is particularly exciting for us as it starts in Abruzzo, the home of the Faninti Group. We have raced throughout the region before but it will be an exciting opportunity to celebrate Fantini at one of the biggest and most beautiful races in the world. I want to thank RCS for inviting us to race.”
