For the first time since 2015, Great Britain’s men’s team pursuit squad were crowned European team pursuit champions on Thursday evening. New IPT signing Ethan Vernon was part of their triumphant quartet.

The 23-year-old was man one throughout the qualifying, first round and final, in which they posted a time of 3:45.218 to beat Denmark in a potential advance preview of an Olympic Games final at the championships in Apeldoorn, Netherlands. Vernon rode alongside Dan Bigham, Ethan Hayter and Charlie Tanfield.

Vernon, the reigning elimination world champion, has the chance to add to his European titles when he competes in the scratch race on Friday.
